I had the soles replaced three times before finally buying a replacement pair because of a sale price. I still wear the first pair for work shoes even though the tops are showing signs of wear after about 15 years. Good quality shoes--they are worth the price. I only wear Birkenstock shoes--rotating 7 pairs.

This is the second pair of Birkenstocks that I have had in 20 years. I am a former monk and bought the first pair in Malone NY in 1992. I wore them daily from Nov of 1992 to Aug of 96. I left religious life and moved to the Pacific Northwest. I then wore them EVERYWHERE other than at work until 2011. They started to fall apart in late 2011. I would have kept them but realized that 20 years is a long enough life for the sandals. I now wear the new pair almost daily!!!
