Soft Footbed
The Birkenstock Footbed mirrors the anatomy of the human foot so perfectly that the entire body weight is distributed across the whole base of the foot with each and every step. Thus the foot receives the ultimate support it needs to execute its proper biomechanical motion.

For particular sensitive feet we now offer some models with the added feature of our “soft footbed” which Birkenstock developed in years of intensive research.

We have embedded a layer of latex foam cushion consisting of millions of tiny air bubbles to ease walking and standing. This means that the insert always returns to its original soft full shape. This foam layer is under the natural suede liner and is not only incorporated in the ball and heel area of the foot but cushions the entire length of the foot.
